Like carded wool, the combed wool is just one more product in the wool-to-yarn cycle. The process is the same. After being sheared, sorted, and washed, the clean wool goes to the carding machine where the fibers are cleaned and aligned, a machine that has already replaced the old trades of carders and combers.

My grandfather told me that in his time, wool carder or comberIt was a craft. The wool carder was a worker in livestock-raising areas with wool production, who washed the fleeces with water to remove dirt and grease, and then untangled or carded them to prepare them for spinning and textile use. These workers, also called wool combing and carding laborers, used traditional tools such as carding combs and combs for this activity.

The only difference with carded wool is the final form, this being along, fluffy strand of wool. This product will allow you to spin wool into handcrafted soft yarns, as well as carrying out endless felting projects that will bring you all the benefits of wool.
