Like carded wool, the combed wool is just one more product in the wool-to-yarn cycle. The process is the same. After being sheared, sorted, and washed, the clean wool goes to the carding machine where the fibers are cleaned and aligned, a machine that has already replaced the old trades of carders and combers.
My grandfather told me that in his time, wool carder or comber was a craft. The wool carder was a worker in livestock-raising areas with wool production, who would wash the fleeces with water to remove dirt and grease from the material, and then untangle or card them to prepare them for spinning and textile use. These workers, also called wool combing and carding laborers, used traditional tools such as carding combs and combs for this activity.
The only difference with carded wool is the final form, this being along, fluffy strand of wool. This product will allow you to spin wool in a handcrafted creating soft yarns, as well as carrying out endless felting projects that will bring you all the benefits of wool.
Not forgetting that our wools are completely ecological in accordance with the standard Oeko-Tex Standard 100. In other words, no chemical additives or colorants are used during the entire production process.
