The inspiration for this shawl comes from both the Spanish landscape and the Spanish wool used in the sample. The sand ripples on the beach suggested the name Las Playas. This triangular-shaped shawl, despite its cabled appearance, is actually a lace pattern throughout.
The version of Las Playas shown here is knit with just three skeins of a soft, lofty, and rustic yarn made from Spanish Merino sheep wool from the flock called La Rinconada, in the color Niebla. For your own version, try this yarn in one of its beautiful shades and enjoy knitting your own shawl with lovely textures.
A stretchy bind-off provides a clean finish to the graphic design, which is easy to follow with fully written instructions including stitch counts, as well as a chart and an easy-to-read diagram.
