SIZES / FINAL MEASURES

Sizes: 1 (2, 3, 4) (5, 6, 7) covers a chest circumference range of 78 to 138 cm (fair measurements). If your chest contour is larger, do not hesitate to contact me and I will scale the size to the size you need. The photo shows size 2 for a chest circumference of 88 cm.

Final measurements of the garment in the chest contour in cm for each size (including clearance): 92 (102, 112, 122) (132, 142, 152) cm, to be worn with a positive clearance of between 14 and 20 cm approx.

YARN

Worsted fiber thickness of about 100 g / 240 m approx.

405 (460, 493, 569) (620, 682, 716)g
973 (1105, 1183, 1366) (1488, 1637, 1718)m

These amounts are approximate. The total length of thread used will also depend on the type of fiber, tension or the modifications that we make to the garment.

For example, if we want it longer, we will need more yarn for both the body and the sleeves.

In the sample in the photograph for size 2 (chest circumference 88 cm and height 1.56 m) with a slack of about 14 cm we have used 370 g of Dehesa de Barrera (100G/240m; 100% Spanish merino wool) from Wooldreamers color Plowed Field.

STRAIN:

17 stitches and 24 rows are 10 by 10 cm in stocking stitch before and after blocking.

18 stitches and 26 rows are 10 by 10 cm in fancy stitch before and after the block.

It is advisable to write down the measurements of the sample before the blocking, in this way we can estimate the difference in the measurements of the garment before and after it.

NEEDLES:

• 5 mm circular with 80 cm cable, or suitable thickness to obtain the measurements of the sample.
• 4.5 mm circulars with 100 cm cable, or half a point smaller than the ones we are going to use to weave the garment.
• 5 mm needles suitable for knitting the sleeves in a circle, whether they are needles with short cables, long ones for knitting with Magic Loop or a set of 5 needles.

OTHER MATERIALS:

• 6 markers.
• Long cable with connector to try on the garment.
• Extra cord or scrap yarn to put sleeve stitches on hold.
• Open zipper, buttons, nothing… depending on what you want to put on the closure.
• Tape measure, wool needle and scissors.

CONSTRUCTION NOTES

ADRIANA is knitted top down in one piece without
seams following the steps below:
1.- We assemble the points of the neckline.
2.- We knit shortened rows to make the rise of the back neckline.
3.- We continue forming the yoke with increases in the lines from raglan to stockinette.
4.- We separate the body and sleeves to continue weaving them by separating in circular, and changing texture in the fabric.

And ready! Let’s find a nice look for our precious cardigan.

Combining a good raw material from the livestock of Mr. Antonio Egea Colás and the know-how of Mantexman, we have created “a unique and authentic yarn made in Spain with Spanish wool”. And we are not only referring to quality, but also to traceability and the values that this project has. It is magical to see how this magnificent product reaches your hands from the sheep. It is a dream to be able to touch and wear this thread.

The Dehesa de Barrera collection follows the principles under which the Wooldreamers project was born and they are immovable. It is not just another thread, it is a thread that transmits values such as solidarity, appreciation for proximity and quality, for knowing where and who has made what you are weaving, etc.

It is a thread that wants to change consciences and help people who are seeing their wool losing value and leading to disappearance. A thread that, in addition to being of quality, saves millions of tons of CO2 emissions, thanks to the fact that it is made in Spain and with ecological energy.

We want to be something different and to help us value what we have. In short, a thread that transmits values:

✅ Fair Market.

✅ Revaluation of Spanish wool.

✅ We collaborate with people with different abilities.

✅ Ecological yarn with OEKOTEX Standard 100 certificate.

✅ 100% traceability guaranteed. From the sheep to your hands.

✅ We minimize carbon emissions compared to other yarns.
